Position Summary

Care Lodge Domestic Violence Shelter is seeking a full-time Victim Advocate to provide individualized, comprehensive advocacy services to survivors of domestic violence. The Victim Advocate serves as a liaison between Care Lodge and the judicial systems throughout the agency's service area and supports the delivery of Family Violence Intervention Program services.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide advocacy and support to survivors navigating the legal and judicial systems.
• Assist clients with Domestic Abuse Protection Orders, Crime Victim's Compensation, and other victim rights and resources.
• Accompany clients to court and legal proceedings as needed.
• Collaborate with law enforcement, court personnel, community agencies, and other referral partners.
• Provide community presentations, professional trainings, and public relations activities.
• Assist with referral, intake, and facilitation activities for the Violence Intervention Program.
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation while adhering to agency confidentiality policies.
• Participate in the agency's on-call rotation.

Qualifications

Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and at least one year of case management or advocacy-related experience. Candidates should have knowledge of domestic violence and applicable judicial systems and laws, strong communication and public speaking skills, and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations both independently and as part of a team. A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and required automobile insurance are also required.

Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Some evening and weekend work may be required—on-call rotation participation is required.

Salary: Dependent on qualifications and discussed at the time of offer.
